Car
From the center of Baia Mare, head southeast on Strada 1 Mai toward Strada Avram Iancu. Continue onto Strada Gheorghe Șincai and follow signs for DJ109E. Follow DJ109E for approximately 12 km until you reach Baia Sprie. Once in Baia Sprie, follow the signs leading to the Vf. Mogoșa trailhead located near the cable car station. Park your car in the designated parking area and prepare for the hike.
Public Transportation
To reach Vf. Mogoșa using public transport, start by taking a bus from Baia Mare to Baia Sprie. Buses depart frequently from the main bus station in Baia Mare, and the journey takes about 20-30 minutes. Once in Baia Sprie, you will need to walk to the trailhead for Vf. Mogoșa, which is roughly 2 km from the bus stop. Follow the main road towards the cable car station, and look for signs leading to the hiking trail.
Hiking
Once you reach the trailhead near the cable car station in Baia Sprie, the hike to Vf. Mogoșa is approximately 3 km. The trail is well-marked, but be prepared for a steep ascent. It is advisable to wear proper hiking shoes and carry water, as the hike can be challenging. The views from the summit are stunning, making the effort worthwhile.
