Getting there

Car

If you are driving from the city center of Piatra Neamț, head southeast on Bulevardul Decebal towards Strada 1 Decembrie 1918. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Strada Mihai Eminescu, where you will turn right. Follow Strada Mihai Eminescu until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Strada Petru Rareș, and after approximately 2 km, turn left onto Strada Muntele Cozla. Follow this road as it winds upwards until you reach the Muntele Cozla area. Parking is available near the entrance to the hiking trails, but be prepared for a short walk if the parking area is busy.

Public Transportation

To reach Muntele Cozla via public transport, begin at the main bus station in Piatra Neamț (Autogara Piatra Neamț). Look for buses heading to the Piatra Neamț cable car station (Telecabina Piatra Neamț). The bus ride will take around 15-20 minutes, and the fare is approximately 3-5 RON. Once you arrive at the cable car station, you can purchase a ticket for the cable car (around 30 RON for a round trip) that will take you directly to the upper station of Muntele Cozla. From there, follow the marked trails to explore the area.

Hiking

For the adventurous, if you prefer hiking, you can start from the city center of Piatra Neamț. Head towards the foot of Muntele Cozla, which is about a 2-3 km walk. There are several marked trails leading up to Muntele Cozla. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry water and snacks. The hike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Once you reach the top, enjoy the scenic views and the natural beauty of the area.
