Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Tg. Jiu. Drive east on DN66. Follow the signs for 'Parâng' and continue until you reach the cable car station at Parâng (Gura Pădurii). This drive takes approximately 1 hour. Once at the cable car station, you can park your car here (parking fees may apply). From the cable car station, take the cable car up to the upper station. The ticket for the cable car costs around 30 RON one way.

Public Transportation
To reach Masivul Parâng via public transportation, take a train or bus to Tg. Jiu. From Tg. Jiu, you can catch a local bus that heads to the Parâng ski resort. The bus ride will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the ski resort, you can either hike to Masivul Parâng, which is about a 2-3 hour trek, or take a cable car from the resort to the upper station. If you choose the cable car, be prepared to pay around 30 RON for a one-way ticket.
