Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest town, which is Petroșani. From Petroșani, take DJ709A towards Parâng. Follow this road up into the mountains until you reach the Parâng resort area. Once you reach the resort, look for signs leading to the Parâng cable car station. Park your vehicle in the designated parking area near the cable car station, which may incur a small parking fee (approximately 10 RON per day). Take the cable car up to the upper station, which is the starting point for the hike to Parângu Mare.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a train or bus to Petroșani. From the Petroșani train or bus station, you can catch a local minibus or taxi to the Parâng resort area. The minibus ride typically costs around 10-15 RON per person. Once you arrive at the Parâng resort, locate the Parâng cable car station and purchase a ticket for the cable car ride to the upper station (approximately 35 RON round trip). After arriving at the upper station, follow the marked hiking trails leading to Parângu Mare, which is approximately a 2-3 hour hike depending on your pace.
