If you're driving, start from the nearest major town, which is Hateg. From Hateg, head towards Retezat National Park. Follow the DN66 road towards Petrosani, then turn onto the DJ685 road toward Retezat National Park. Continue on DJ685 until you reach the entrance to the park. Once inside, follow the signs leading to the various hiking trails. You will need to park at the designated parking areas near the trailheads. There is usually a parking fee of around 5-10 RON (approximately 1-2 euros). After parking, head to the nearest trail that leads towards Cascada Scurtele.

Using public transport, take a train or bus to Hateg from major cities like Bucharest or Timisoara. Once in Hateg, you can take a local bus or arrange a taxi to reach the Retezat National Park entrance. Be sure to check the local bus schedules ahead of time as they may vary. Once you reach the park entrance, you will need to hike to Cascada Scurtele. Look for local guides or park maps to find the best trail leading to the waterfall. The hike can take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace.
