Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Băile Borșa. Take DN18 towards Moisei. Continue on DN18 for about 10 km until you reach the turn-off to DJ183. Turn onto DJ183 and follow the signs for Piatra Baitei. The last part of the journey will be on a gravel road. Keep an eye out for the Piatra Baitei sign, which is located approximately 3 km down this road. The journey should take about 25 minutes.
Public Transportation
To reach Piatra Baitei using public transportation, take a bus from Băile Borșa to Moisei. Buses run regularly from the main bus station. Once in Moisei, you can take a taxi or look for local shuttles that can take you to the gravel road leading to Piatra Baitei. The taxi ride will cost around 30-50 RON, and the journey will take about 15 minutes. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your ride.
Hiking
For adventurous travelers, you can hike to Piatra Baitei starting from Băile Borșa. The hike is about 6 km and takes approximately 2-3 hours. Begin your hike by following the marked trails that lead you through the beautiful landscapes of the Rodnei Mountains. Ensure you have a good map or GPS as the trails can be less marked in some areas. Bring proper hiking gear and sufficient water, as there are no facilities along the trail.
