If you're traveling by car, start your journey in the main town of Rwamagana. Head east on the RN3 road towards the Rusumo border post. Continue straight for about 30 kilometers until you reach the village of Rusumo. The falls are located near the border with Tanzania, and there are signposts along the way to guide you. Parking is available near the falls.
Public Transportation
To reach Rusumo Falls using public transportation, take a bus from Kigali to Rwamagana. Once in Rwamagana, you can find a bus heading to Rusumo. The bus ride from Rwamagana to Rusumo takes approximately 1-1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Rusumo, you may need to hire a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) or walk the remaining distance to the falls, which is about 3 kilometers from the bus stop. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.
