Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the central area of Kigali, start at the Kigali Convention Centre. Head southeast on Avenue du Commerce, then turn left onto Avenue de la révolution. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Boulevard de l’Umuganda. Turn right onto Boulevard de l’Umuganda, and walk straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the Car Free Zone, located at 3346+9QC, Kigali. You will see clear signage indicating the entrance to the Car Free Zone.

• Bicycle

  For a more adventurous route, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in central Kigali. Start at the Kigali Genocide Memorial and bike along Avenue de la Paix heading north. Once you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue de la Révolution. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Boulevard de l’Umuganda. Turn left onto Boulevard de l’Umuganda and cycle for approximately 20 minutes to reach the Car Free Zone at 3346+9QC, Kigali.

• Motorcycle Taxi (Moto)

  To reach the Car Free Zone quickly, consider taking a motorcycle taxi (moto). Find a moto taxi stand near your location in Kigali. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Car Free Zone located at 3346+9QC. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from the central bus station in Kigali. Look for a bus heading towards Nyamirambo. After boarding, ask the conductor to let you know when you reach the stop closest to the Car Free Zone. Once you disembark, walk about 10 minutes southeast along Avenue de la Révolution until you reach the Car Free Zone at 3346+9QC, Kigali.
