Car
If you are traveling by car, ensure you have a GPS or a reliable map. Start your journey from the Nyabarongo River area. Head north towards Kigali on the RN1 road. Continue on RN1 for approximately 30 kilometers. As you approach Kigali, follow the signs for Nyanza. Turn left onto the road marked for Nyanza and follow it for about 10 kilometers until you reach the memorial. There is a parking area available at the site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus or a moto-taxi from your location along the Nyabarongo River to the main bus station in Kigali. The bus fare is approximately 500 RWF. From there, look for a bus heading to Nyanza; these buses frequently leave from the Nyabugogo bus station. The fare to Nyanza is about 1,000 RWF. Upon arrival in Nyanza, you can take a moto-taxi directly to the Nyanza Genocide Memorial, which should cost around 300 RWF.
