From the center of Nyagatare, head southwest towards the Nyagatare District Office. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the main road (RN3). Cross the road and follow the signs leading to the Nyagatare bus station. Once at the bus station, look for a bus heading to Ruhengeri. The ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Upon arrival at Ruhengeri, you will need to take a moto-taxi or a local guide towards the Nyiragihima Caves, which is roughly 30 minutes away.

Starting in Nyagatare, walk to the Nyagatare bus station. Board a bus heading to Ruhengeri (make sure to confirm with the driver that they will stop near the caves). After reaching Ruhengeri, ask locals for directions to Nyiragihima Caves; most will guide you to a moto-taxi stand where you can hire a moto-taxi to take you directly to the caves.
