Getting There

Walking
Start from the central market area in Ruhengeri. Head southeast on Avenue du Commerce and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la Paix. Turn right onto Avenue de la Paix and walk for about 10 minutes until you see the Nyakinama Road on your left. Turn left onto Nyakinama Road and walk straight for approximately 2 kilometers. You will pass local shops and residential areas. Continue walking until you reach the entrance of Buhanga Eco-Park, which will be on your right.

Bicycle
If you rent a bicycle, start from the center of Ruhengeri. Ride southeast on Avenue du Commerce, then turn right onto Avenue de la Paix. Cycle along Avenue de la Paix for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Nyakinama Road. Take a left onto Nyakinama Road and continue cycling for approximately 2 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the Buhanga Eco-Park entrance on your right. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes.

Motorbike Taxi
To use a motorbike taxi (known locally as 'moto'), find a motorcycle taxi stand in Ruhengeri, especially around the central market area. Inform the driver that you would like to go to Buhanga Eco-Park in Nyakinama. The driver will take you via Avenue du Commerce and Avenue de la Paix, turning onto Nyakinama Road. The journey typically takes around 10-15 minutes and will cost a small fare, usually negotiable.
