Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Kibuye. Head south on the RN 10 road towards the town of Nyamasheke. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the junction near the village of Bwishyura. Take a left turn onto the unpaved road leading towards Cratere Ruhara. Continue on this road for about 12 km, following the signs for Cratere Ruhara. The crater is located approximately 3 km from the main road, and you will need to navigate some rough terrain, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

Public Transportation
To reach Cratere Ruhara via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Kibuye to Nyamasheke. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station in Kibuye and the fare is about 1,000 RWF. Once you arrive in Nyamasheke, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (known as a 'moto') to take you to Cratere Ruhara. The moto ride will cost around 2,000 RWF and takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to confirm the price before you start your journey.
