The crater is located approximately 3 km from the main road, and you will need to navigate some rough terrain, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

    To reach Cratere Ruhara via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Kibuye to Nyamasheke. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station in Kibuye and the fare is about 1,000 RWF.
