Walking
From the center of Newcastle, head south towards the main road. As you walk along the road, keep an eye out for local landmarks such as the Newcastle Beach on your left. Continue walking until you reach the junction where the main road connects to the coast road. Turn left onto the coast road and continue walking. You will pass various shops and eateries on your way. After about 20 minutes of walking, look for a path leading into the hills on your right. This path leads towards the First Waterfall, which is approximately a 30-minute hike uphill. Follow the trail signs indicating 'First Waterfall' as you ascend.
Public Transport
Begin at the Newcastle bus stop located near the beach. Board a bus heading towards Rawlins. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop closest to the hiking trail for First Waterfall. Once you arrive at Rawlins, exit the bus and look for the path leading into the hills, which should be visible from the bus stop. Follow the footpath as it winds uphill. The hike will take around 30 minutes. Look for trail markers that guide you to First Waterfall.
