Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Choiseul Quarter. Head north on the main road towards the town of Soufriere. After approximately 15 minutes of driving, merge onto the E5 highway towards Castries. Continue for about 25 minutes until you reach the exit for Castries. Once in Castries, follow signs to the city center. The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is located on Derek Walcott Square, at the intersection of Micoud Street and Laborie Street. There is street parking available, but it may require a small fee, depending on the area.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can catch a minibus from Choiseul Quarter heading to Castries. Look for a bus with a sign indicating 'Castries' or 'Town'. The fare is typically around 3-5 EC Dollars (Eastern Caribbean Dollars). The journey should take about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Castries bus terminal, exit and walk towards the city center. The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is about a 10-minute walk from the terminal. Head east on John Compton Highway, then turn left onto Micoud Street. The cathedral will be on your right at Derek Walcott Square.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Choiseul Quarter to Castries. Taxis are available throughout the area and can be hired for a fixed rate. Expect to pay around 60-80 EC Dollars for the trip. The taxi will take you directly to the cathedral at Derek Walcott Square, which is easily accessible from the main roads.
