Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Lano Beach.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the main town of Salelologa, which is the ferry terminal for Savai'i Island. Head west on the main road, following the signs towards Lano Beach. The drive will take approximately 45 minutes. Keep an eye out for the sign for Lano Beach, which will be on your right. The beach is located near a small village, and the road may be narrow in some sections, so drive carefully.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Salelologa that is heading towards the western part of the island. You can catch the bus at the main bus depot. The fare is usually around 5-10 Samoan Tala, and the journey will take about an hour. Inform the driver you wish to stop at Lano Beach, as not all buses may stop at the beach directly. Once you arrive, you might need to walk a short distance to reach the beach itself.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Lano Beach and prefer to walk, head towards the beach from the nearest village, which is Lano village. Follow the path towards the coastline; it is an approximately 15-20 minute walk. The path is well-trodden but be aware of local traffic and keep to the side.
Use Lano Beach as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
