Foot
From the main village of Vailoa, head towards the coastline. Walk along the main road that leads south, keeping the ocean on your left. After about 15 minutes, you will come to a sign for Afu Aau Waterfalls. Follow the path indicated by the sign, which will lead you through lush greenery. The walk to the waterfalls from the road is approximately 10 minutes.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, rent one from a local shop in Vailoa. Start from the village center and head south along the coastal road. Keep the ocean to your left and ride for about 20 minutes. Look for signs indicating Afu Aau Waterfalls and follow the path indicated for an additional 10-minute ride through the scenic forest area leading to the waterfalls.
Public Transportation
Catch a local bus from the main bus terminal in Salelologa, which is the primary transport hub in Savai'i. Take the bus heading towards Vailoa. Once you arrive in Vailoa, get off at the main village stop. From there, walk towards the coast and follow the directions to the waterfalls as described above. The total travel time will be around 30 minutes on the bus, plus a 25-minute walk.
