If you are starting from Salelologa, the main town on Savai'i, head towards the Salelologa wharf area. From there, take the main road heading north (Main North Coast Road). Walk along this road for about 30-40 minutes, following the signs towards the Palauli area. As you walk, enjoy the scenic views of the coast and lush landscapes. Continue on until you reach the turnoff for Palauli, which is marked by a sign. Turn left at this junction and walk straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you see the entrance to the Pulemelei Ancient Mound on your right.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle in Salelologa. Start by cycling along the Main North Coast Road for about 30-40 minutes. Look for the sign pointing to Palauli and turn left at the junction. Continue cycling for about 1 kilometer towards the Pulemelei Ancient Mound entrance. Be cautious of the road conditions and local traffic. This route will give you a unique perspective of the island's beauty.
Public Transport
From Salelologa, catch a local bus heading towards the north coast. Inform the driver that you want to go to Palauli. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction where the sign to Pulemelei Ancient Mound is located. From there, it’s about a 1 kilometer walk to the entrance on your right.
