From the center of Sao Tome City, head towards the waterfront along Avenida da Independência. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout at Praça da Independência. At the roundabout, take the exit onto Rua 1 de Maio, which runs parallel to the coast. Follow this road until you see the signs for Praia Grande. It’s approximately a 20-minute walk from the center, and you will enjoy beautiful views of the ocean as you approach the beach.

Locate a minibus stop on Avenida da Independência. Board a minibus heading towards 'Praia Grande'. The fare is usually very affordable. Inform the driver of your destination, and he will drop you off at a stop close to the beach. The ride takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you get off, walk a short distance towards the beach entrance.
