Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram). From the entrance, head towards the main square. Locate the Abraj Al Bait Towers, which is a prominent landmark. Walk towards the western side of the mosque, heading along Al Masjid Al Haram Rd. Continue walking straight for about 1.2 km (approximately 15 minutes). You will pass several shops and local eateries along the way. Look for signs directing you towards Abu Qubais Hill. As you approach the hill, you’ll see the entrance marked by a small path leading uphill.

    If you find yourself near the King Abdulaziz Gate of the Grand Mosque, exit the gate and turn right. Walk along the road adjacent to the mosque, following the pedestrian path. Keep walking for about 800 meters until you reach the junction. Turn left at the junction and continue straight for another 400 meters. You should see Abu Qubais Hill ahead, easily identifiable by its height. Follow the path leading up the hill, which may be steep in some areas.

    Alternatively, if you are at the Makkah Clock Tower, exit towards the north side. Walk down the road towards Al Masjid Al Haram Rd. After about 700 meters, you will reach the intersection. Take a left turn and continue walking for 600 meters. Look for the signs indicating Abu Qubais Hill, which will lead you to a pathway that ascends the hill. This route will take around 20 minutes on foot.
