Car
From Dakar, take the N1 highway heading north out of the city. Continue on the N1 for approximately 180 km (about 2.5 to 3 hours of driving). Follow signs towards Saint-Louis. Once you reach Saint-Louis, continue on the N2 for another 50 km until you reach Podor. In Podor, ask for directions to Fort de Podor, which is located near the Senegal River.
Public Transportation
Start at the Gare Routière in Dakar, where you can catch a 'sept-place' (shared taxi) heading to Saint-Louis. The fare is typically around 2,500-3,500 CFA francs. The journey will take about 4 to 5 hours. Once you arrive in Saint-Louis, transfer to a local bus or taxi heading to Podor, which is about 50 km away. This additional leg should cost around 1,000-1,500 CFA francs and take about 1 hour. In Podor, ask locals for directions to Fort de Podor.
