Public Transport - Bus
From the city center of Dakar, head to the 'Gare routière' (bus station) located near the Place de l'Obélisque. Look for a bus heading towards 'Plage de Soumbedioune' or 'Corniche'. These buses are frequent, and the fare is affordable. Once on the bus, inform the driver or conductor that you wish to go to Madeleine National Park, and they will let you know when to disembark. The nearest stop is close to the park entrance.
Walking
If you are staying near the corniche or Plage de Soumbedioune, you can walk to Madeleine National Park. From Plage de Soumbedioune, walk west along the beachfront road, Rte de la Corniche O. Keep walking for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the park entrance, which is clearly marked. Enjoy the scenic views of the ocean as you walk!
Taxi (Moto or Bicycle)
If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a motorcycle taxi (known locally as 'Jakarta') or a bicycle taxi. Simply flag one down from your location and tell the driver 'Madeleine National Park' or show them the address: MGHP+7WC, Plage de Soumbedioune, Rte de la Corniche O. The ride should take about 10 minutes depending on traffic.
