Walking
If you are in the central area of Plateau, you can walk to the Senegalese Armed Forces Museum located at 75 Boulevard de la République. Start at the Place de l'Indépendance, which is a central landmark in Plateau. From there, head east on Avenue Moussa Tavele, then turn left onto Boulevard de la République. Continue walking straight for about 800 meters. The museum will be on your right. The walk is pleasant and allows you to enjoy the local architecture.
Public Transport - Bus
For those preferring public transport, take a local bus heading towards the 'Gare routière' (bus station). You can catch the bus from various points in Plateau, such as near the Place de l'Indépendance. Board a bus that has a sign indicating it goes towards 'Gare routière'. The fare is typically around 200 CFA (West African Francs). Alight at the stop closest to Boulevard de la République, then walk approximately 200 meters to the museum, which will be on your left. Be sure to check the bus schedule as they may not run frequently.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a motorcycle taxi (also known as 'Jakarta') or a regular taxi. You can easily find motorcycle taxis around the streets of Plateau, especially near major hotels or landmarks. Agree on a fare before getting on; it should be around 1000 to 1500 CFA to reach the museum. If taking a regular taxi, ensure to tell the driver 'Musée des Forces Armées' or simply show them the address: 75 Boulevard de la République. This method is faster and more comfortable, especially if you are carrying bags.
