Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the central area of Mbour, head west towards the beach. Begin at the Mbour Market (Marché de Mbour), which is located at Avenue de la République. From the market, walk straight down Avenue de la République until you reach the intersection with Route de la Plage. Turn left onto Route de la Plage and continue walking until you see signs directed towards Plage grand Mbour. Follow the signs, and you will reach the beach area where Plage grand Mbour is located. The beach should be on your right.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Mbour. Start your journey from the central area, heading towards Avenue de la République. Cycle straight down Avenue de la République until you reach Route de la Plage. Turn left onto Route de la Plage and continue cycling until you see signs for Plage grand Mbour. The ride should take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your speed and traffic on the road.

• Taxi (Bicycle Taxi)

  If you prefer not to walk or bike, you can take a bicycle taxi (or 'Jakarta') from anywhere in Mbour. Simply inform the driver that you want to go to Plage grand Mbour. The drivers are familiar with local destinations, and they will navigate to the beach for you. The ride should be relatively short, taking no more than 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.

• Local Transport (Car rapide)

  To reach Plage grand Mbour using local transport, find a car rapide (shared minibus) that travels towards the beach area. You can catch one from various points in Mbour, but a good starting point is near the Mbour Market. Pay attention to the signs that indicate they are going to 'Plage' or 'Plage Mbour.' When you reach your stop, disembark and walk towards the beach area; Plage grand Mbour should be within a short walking distance.
