From Chinatown MRT Station (NE4), exit towards Pagoda Street. Walk straight along Pagoda Street until you reach Smith Street, where you will find the Chinatown Food Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the street, then turn left onto Trengganu Street. Walk until you reach the junction with Temple Street, and turn right onto Temple Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction with New Bridge Road. Cross New Bridge Road and head towards Clarke Quay, following the signs. After crossing the river on the bridge, continue walking straight along River Valley Road. The Old Married Soldiers Quarters will be on your right at 70 River Valley Road.

If you are near the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, exit the temple and head south towards the junction with Sago Street. Turn right onto Sago Street, then left onto Pagoda Street. Walk straight to the junction with New Bridge Road, crossing the road to head towards Clarke Quay. Once you reach the riverside, continue along River Valley Road until you see the Old Married Soldiers Quarters located at 70 River Valley Road on your right.

From the Chinatown Heritage Centre, exit and head towards the nearest bus stop at Jalan Pinang. Take Bus 61 or 120, and alight at the Fort Canning Park stop. From there, walk down Fort Canning Hill towards River Valley Road. Once you reach River Valley Road, turn left and continue walking until you see the Old Married Soldiers Quarters at 70 River Valley Road on your right.
