From the East Coast Park, make your way towards the East Coast Parkway (ECP) exit that leads to Bedok. Once you reach the ECP exit, follow the pedestrian path that leads to the nearest bus stop. Board Bus 36 or 43, which goes towards Marine Parade. Get off at the stop 'Marine Parade Stn Exit A'. From there, walk towards the nearest MRT station at Marine Parade and take the MRT towards Dhoby Ghaut, alighting at Little India MRT Station. Exit the station and walk towards Serangoon Road, then turn onto Kerbau Road. The Former House of Tan Teng Niah is located at 37 Kerbau Rd, just a short distance away.

If you have a bike, you can cycle from East Coast Park towards the city. Follow the designated cycling paths leading to the East Coast Parkway (ECP). Once you reach the ECP exit, cycle towards Marine Parade and then follow the road signs guiding you to Little India. Upon reaching Little India, park your bike at a designated bike parking area, then walk towards Serangoon Road and turn onto Kerbau Road. The Former House of Tan Teng Niah will be located at 37 Kerbau Rd.
