Walking
From Maho Beach, head east along the coast on the main road. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Airport Road (also known as Route 40). Turn left onto Airport Road. Keep walking until you pass the Princess Juliana International Airport on your right. After passing the airport, you'll reach a roundabout. Take the first exit onto Welfare Road (Route 2). Continue straight until you reach the end of Welfare Road, where you will find Great Salt Pond on your left.

If you are near the Maho Village area, head towards the main road and follow it towards the east. Look for signs pointing towards Philipsburg. Once you reach the intersection with Airport Road, turn left. Proceed along Airport Road until you come to the roundabout, where you will take the first exit onto Welfare Road. Continue straight to reach Great Salt Pond, which should be visible on your left.

If you are at the Sunset Beach Bar, exit the bar and turn left to walk towards the main road. Follow the main road to the east until you reach Airport Road. Turn left onto Airport Road and walk straight. You will come to a roundabout; take the first exit onto Welfare Road. Continue walking straight until you find Great Salt Pond on your left.
