If you're traveling by car, start from Liptovský Mikuláš. Take the road E50 towards Ružomberok, and then exit onto Route 584 towards Kráľova Lehota. Follow Route 584 for about 15 km, passing through Kráľova Lehota. Look for signs directing you to Čierny Váh. Once you reach the vicinity of Čierny Váh, you will see the upper water reservoir on your left-hand side. Parking is available near the reservoir.

To reach Čierny Váh Water Reservoir using public transportation, take a bus from Liptovský Mikuláš to Ružomberok. Once in Ružomberok, transfer to a local bus heading towards Kráľova Lehota. Make sure to check the local bus schedules as they may vary. The bus stop for Kráľova Lehota is close to the area of Čierny Váh. From the bus stop, it's a short 10-15 minute walk to the upper reservoir. Be aware of the bus fares; typically, a one-way ticket costs around 1-2 euros.
