From the center of Bled, head towards Lake Bled. You can start from the Bled Castle viewpoint which is located on a hill above the lake. Walk down towards the lake and you'll find the lakeside promenade. Follow the promenade to the left (west) until you reach the end of the path where you’ll see the pier for the traditional 'pletna' boats. The pier is clearly marked and is a popular spot for tourists.

At the pier, purchase a ticket for a pletna boat ride to Bled Island. The boats are operated by local rowers, and the ride typically takes about 20 minutes. The boats depart regularly, so you shouldn't have to wait long. Enjoy the scenic views of the island and the surrounding mountains during your journey.

Once you arrive at Bled Island, you will disembark at the designated dock. Explore the island, visiting the Church of the Assumption and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Make sure to take a walk around the island to fully appreciate its charm and take lots of photos.

When you are ready to leave Bled Island, return to the same dock where you arrived. Wait for the next pletna boat to take you back to the mainland. The schedule for the pletna boats is typically every 30 minutes, but it’s good to check the timings with the boat operator.
