Getting there

Car

If you're driving from anywhere in Carinthia, head towards the A2 motorway. If you're coming from Klagenfurt, take the A2 south towards Slovenia. Follow the signs for Bled. Once you reach Bled, follow the signs to the center of town. You'll see signs for Bled Castle (Grajski grad) directing you to Grajska cesta. The parking area is located near the castle entrance. Please note that parking may be limited, and there may be a fee depending on the time of year.

Public Transportation

From major towns in Carinthia, such as Villach or Klagenfurt, take a train to Lesce-Bled station. The train ride takes approximately 1-1.5 hours. Upon arrival at Lesce-Bled, transfer to a local bus (line 6 or 8) heading towards Bled. Get off at the Bled bus station. From there, it's about a 30-minute walk uphill to Bled Castle, or you can opt for a taxi for a quicker ride, which typically costs around €10-15.

Walking

If you are already in Bled, head towards the central area and follow the signs to Bled Castle. The path is well-marked and takes you through a beautiful park. The distance is approximately 1.5 km from the lake, and it will take about 20-30 minutes to walk up to the castle. Be prepared for a steep incline as you approach the castle.
