Car
If you're driving, start from the center of Lake Bled. Head east on Cesta svobode (the main road) and follow the signs towards Bled Castle. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Cesta svobode. After approximately 1.5 km, you'll see a sign for 'Matija's Viewpoint' on your right. Turn onto the narrow road leading up the hill. The road might be steep and winding, so drive carefully. After parking at the designated area, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to reach the viewpoint.
Public Transportation
To reach Matija's Viewpoint using public transportation, take a local bus from Lake Bled's main bus station. Look for a bus heading towards Bled Castle. Get off at the stop near the castle. From there, follow the signs for 'Matija's Viewpoint' which will direct you to a hiking trail. The trail is well-marked and takes about 20 to 30 minutes of moderate hiking to reach the viewpoint. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Lake Bled, you can walk to Matija's Viewpoint. Start from the lakeside promenade and head towards Bled Castle. Once you reach the castle entrance, look for a path leading uphill. Follow this path, which is well-marked and maintained. The walk will take about 30 to 40 minutes, and the trail can be steep in sections, so wear comfortable shoes. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way!
