Getting there

Walking

Start from the main square in Piran, Tartini Square. Head northeast towards the coast, and then follow the waterfront promenade, passing by the marina. Continue along the promenade until you reach the end, where you will see a small road leading out of the city. Follow this road uphill for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the bus stop at the top. Take a local bus heading towards Kanfanar; the bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes.

Bicycle

If you’re renting a bicycle, start from Tartini Square and head towards the coastal road. Ride along the coast until you reach the bus stop at the edge of town. From there, you can continue on the bike path towards Kanfanar, which is about 15 km away. The ride will take you through beautiful countryside, but be prepared for some uphill sections.

Public Transport

From Piran, walk to the nearest bus station located near the main square. Look for the bus that is heading to Kanfanar. Make sure to check the bus schedule, as there may be limited departures. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Kanfanar, you will need to walk about 1 km to the Dvigrad ruins, which are located in the countryside.
