The Damjanić winery traces its roots to the early 18th century when the Jurković family began planting vineyards in Fuškulin, between Poreč and Limski Kanal. This ancient viticulture tradition passed through generations, reaching enologist Ivan Damjanić at the turn of the 21st century. Starting as a modest garage operation, Ivan, supported by his wife Željka, persevered through challenges to build a modern winery in 2023, honoring his grandfathers' legacy with 12 wine labels across Classic and Premium lines.[1][2][6]

Spanning 8.5 hectares, the vineyards emphasize Istrian Malvasia alongside rare traditional grapes like Borgonja and Duranja. Blends such as Clemente Blanc, Clemente Red, and Duro Istriano (50% Teran, 50% Borgonja) showcase the 'real Istrian' character. Annual production reaches 70,000-90,000 bottles, blending tradition with modern technology for high-quality results.[1][3][4]

Damjanić offers guided tastings of 4-6 wines, including sparkling Virtu Brut (Malvazija, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc), crisp Malvazija Istarska with peach and floral notes, fruity Borgonja, and complex orange wines like the 2013 Classic macerated Malvazija. Pairings feature Istrian prosciutto, pancetta, cheeses, sausages, olives, and homemade olive oil. Sessions last 45-60 minutes in a stunning modern interior, led by knowledgeable hosts.[3][4][5]
