Getting There

• Walking

  If you are already in Tezno, start by heading towards the main road, Tezno Street (Težka cesta). Walk in the direction of Maribor city center. After about 10-15 minutes of walking, you will reach the intersection with Ulica heroja Šlandra. Continue straight on this road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Ulica Koroška and follow it until you reach the bridge over the Drava River. Cross the bridge, enjoying the scenic view of the river. Once you are across, continue straight on Ulica Koroška, which will lead you into the heart of Maribor. You will soon see signs pointing to the city center. Continue walking until you reach Glavni trg (Main Square). The Plague Column is located in the center of this square, easily identifiable as a prominent historical landmark.

• Public Transport

  For those who prefer public transport, you can take a bus from Tezno to Maribor city center. Locate the nearest bus stop on Tezno Street (Težka cesta). Board a bus heading towards Maribor (look for line numbers that indicate Maribor as a destination). The bus ride typically takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Disembark at the main bus station (Avtobusna postaja Maribor). From the bus station, it's approximately a 10-minute walk to Glavni trg. Exit the bus station and head towards Ulica heroja Šlandra, then continue straight until you reach the main square, where the Plague Column is located. Note that a single bus ticket may cost around 1.20 to 1.50 EUR, depending on the operator.
