Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Nova Gorica, walk to the main bus station, which is located at Župančičeva ulica 2. Look for buses heading towards Škofja Loka. You can check the bus schedules at the station or use the local transport app. Board the bus that goes directly to Škofja Loka. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Škofja Loka, get off at the main bus station. From there, you can catch a local bus towards Poljane nad Škofjo Loko. The bus ride to Poljane should take around 15 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Družinski park Stari vrh, and from there, you can walk to the park.

• Bike

  Rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Nova Gorica. A popular rental shop is located near the main square. Once you have your bike, head towards the main road leading out of Nova Gorica towards Škofja Loka. The ride will be scenic, taking you through beautiful landscapes. Follow the road signs towards Poljane nad Škofjo Loko. The journey takes about an hour, depending on your speed. Once you arrive in Poljane, look for signs to Družinski park Stari vrh, which is approximately a 5-minute bike ride from the center of Poljane.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, start from the center of Nova Gorica and head towards the bridge over the Soča River. Cross the bridge and continue on the path towards the countryside. The walk to Poljane nad Škofjo Loko is quite long, approximately 15 kilometers, so it may take about 3-4 hours. Follow the path signs towards Škofja Loka and look for the signs indicating Poljane. Once you reach Poljane, you will find Družinski park Stari vrh a short walk from the main road.
