Getting There

  • Bus

    From the center of Nova Gorica, walk to the main bus station (Avtobusna postaja Nova Gorica). Take bus number 10 towards Trieste. Make sure to check the current schedule for bus times. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. You will need to get off at the stop called 'Duino'. From the Duino bus stop, walk about 10 minutes towards Frazione Duino. Follow the signs for Duino Castle (Castello di Duino), and you will reach your destination.

  • Train and Bus

    Start at Nova Gorica train station (Železniška postaja Nova Gorica). Take a train to Sistiana (Sistiana-Visogliano). The train journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Sistiana, exit the train station and look for the bus stop. Take bus number 42 towards Duino. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the 'Duino' stop. From there, follow the signs for Duino Castle (Castello di Duino), which is about a 10-minute walk.

    If you are feeling adventurous and have the time, you can also walk to Duino Castle from Nova Gorica. Start at the center of Nova Gorica and head towards the river. Follow the river path that leads to the outskirts of the city. Continue walking along the scenic route towards Duino, which is approximately 7 km away.
