Car

If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the town of Postojna, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from the capital city, Ljubljana. From Ljubljana, take the A1 motorway towards Postojna. Once you reach Postojna, follow the signs for Predjama Castle (Predjama grad). The castle is located about 9 kilometers from Postojna. You will take the H4 road, and after approximately 15 minutes, you will see signs directing you to the castle. There is a parking area available near the castle, but be aware that there may be a parking fee.

Public Transportation - Bus

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Ljubljana to Postojna. Buses leave regularly from the Ljubljana bus station and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Postojna bus station, you can take a local bus or a taxi to Predjama Castle, which is about 9 kilometers away. Local buses may not run frequently, so checking the schedule in advance is advisable. Alternatively, you can hire a taxi from the bus station to the castle.

Walking from Postojna

For those who enjoy walking, you can hike from Postojna to Predjama Castle, which is about a 2-hour walk (around 9 km). From the center of Postojna, head northwest on H4 road towards Predjama.
