Car
If you're driving, start from the town of Clanwilliam, which is about 30 km from Pakhuis Pass. Take the R364 road from Clanwilliam towards the Cederberg Mountains. Follow the signs for the Cederberg region. Continue on the R364 until you reach the turnoff for the Pakhuis Pass which is marked with signage. The pass is approximately 20 km up this road, and you will be treated to beautiful mountain scenery along the way. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some sections may be steep and winding.

Using public transport can be a bit challenging as options are limited. You can take a bus from Cape Town to Clanwilliam, which is the nearest town. The bus journey typically takes about 3-4 hours and costs around ZAR 200-300. Once in Clanwilliam, you have a couple of options: you can hire a taxi to take you to the Pakhuis Pass, which may cost around ZAR 400-600 for a round trip, or you can arrange for a local shuttle service if available. Make sure to confirm the return trip with your driver.
