Car
If you are driving, make your way to the entrance of De Hoop Nature Reserve located at the GPS coordinates GCX2+4R, Ouplaas. Upon entering the reserve, follow the main road, which is well marked. You will pass several signs directing you towards the campsite. Continue straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach the campsite area. There is no entrance fee for the reserve, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition to navigate any gravel roads.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus or shuttle service to the nearest town, which is Swellendam. From Swellendam, you can hire a taxi or arrange for a shuttle service to De Hoop Nature Reserve. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. The drive from Swellendam to the reserve is approximately 30 kilometers, and the taxi fare may vary, typically costing around R300-R500. Once you arrive at the reserve entrance, follow the same directions as above to reach the campsite.

For the more adventurous, cycling to the campsite is an option. If you are already within De Hoop Nature Reserve, you can rent a bicycle from the visitor center. Follow the designated cycling paths, which are clearly marked. The campsite is about 5 kilometers from the main entrance, and the ride offers beautiful views of the surrounding nature. Be prepared for some uneven terrain and bring plenty of water and snacks.
