Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car to the Joburg Film Festival, start on the N1 highway. If you are coming from Pretoria, take the N1 South and exit at the M1 South towards Johannesburg. If you are coming from the East Rand, take the N3 highway towards Johannesburg and then merge onto the N1 South. Continue on the M1 until you reach the Grayston Drive exit. Follow Grayston Drive until you reach the intersection with Fricker Road. Turn left onto Fricker Road, and you will find the Joburg Film Festival at 21 Fricker Rd, Illovo, Sandton. There is limited parking available in the area, so be prepared to find street parking or use nearby parking facilities, which may incur additional costs.

• Public Transport - Gautrain

  For those using public transport, the Gautrain is a reliable option. If you are starting from Pretoria, take the Gautrain from Pretoria Station to Sandton Station. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Sandton Station, exit the station and take a short taxi ride or use a rideshare app to get to 21 Fricker Rd, Illovo, Sandton. The taxi ride should take around 10 minutes and will cost approximately R30-R50 depending on the service. If you are coming from Johannesburg, you can also take the Gautrain to Sandton Station from either the Park Station or OR Tambo International Airport.

• Public Transport - Bus

  If you prefer to use a bus, several local bus services operate in Gauteng. You can catch a bus to Sandton from various locations in Johannesburg. Look for buses that have Sandton City or Illovo as their final destination. Once you arrive in Sandton, you may need to take a short taxi or rideshare trip to reach 21 Fricker Rd. The bus fare is usually around R20-R30, while the taxi from Sandton City to the festival location will cost approximately R30.
