From the center of Highveld, head southeast on the R21 highway. Continue on the R21 for approximately 20 kilometers. Take the exit toward the R101 (Pretoria Road) and merge onto the R101. Continue on the R101 for about 10 kilometers, then turn right onto Game Reserve Ave. Follow Game Reserve Ave until you reach the entrance of Rietvlei Nature Reserve located at 14 Game Reserve Ave, Rietvallei 377-Jr, Pretoria. Please note that there may be an entrance fee, so have cash or a card ready.

If you are taking public transportation, start by boarding a local bus or taxi that heads toward Pretoria. Ensure that you confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the nearest stop to Rietvlei Nature Reserve. Once you arrive in Pretoria, you may need to take a taxi or a rideshare service for the last stretch to 14 Game Reserve Ave, Rietvallei 377-Jr. Public transport may have limited schedules, so plan your trip accordingly.

For the more adventurous, cycling from Highveld to Rietvlei Nature Reserve is an option. The route via R21 and R101 is approximately 30 kilometers. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water. Once you reach Game Reserve Ave, follow the road to the entrance of Rietvlei Nature Reserve. Be aware of traffic and ensure your bicycle is in good working condition before you set off.
