If you are driving from central Highveld, head northwest on John Vorster Drive (R21) towards the N1 Highway. Continue on R21 for about 10 km. Take the exit for the N1 towards Pretoria. After approximately 5 km, take exit 24 for the M34 towards Centurion. Follow the M34 for around 3 km, then turn left onto Luton Avenue. Continue on Luton Avenue for about 1 km, and the Luton Valley Bird Sanctuary will be on your left. Please note that parking may be available on-site, but check local signage for any potential fees.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a Gautrain train from Centurion Station to Midrand Station. From Midrand, you can catch a taxi (minibus) to Centurion. Once in Centurion, head to the nearest bus stop for a local bus that heads towards Highveld. Disembark at the stop closest to Luton Avenue. From there, it is a short walk to the sanctuary. Ensure you have a few coins for the taxi and bus fares, which generally range between R20 to R40 depending on the distance.

Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Highveld. Start by heading northwest on John Vorster Drive and follow the same route as if you were driving. There are bike lanes available on some parts of the route. It will take approximately 30-45 minutes to reach the sanctuary by bike, depending on your speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring a water bottle.

Walking to Luton Valley Bird Sanctuary from the center of Highveld is possible but may take a considerable amount of time (approximately 1.5 to 2 hours). Begin on John Vorster Drive heading northwest, then follow the same directions as if you were driving, but be mindful of pedestrian paths and road safety. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the journey.
