Getting There

• Train and Taxi

  Start your journey at Pretoria Station, which is centrally located in Pretoria. Take a train heading to the town of Hartbeespoort. The train ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Hartbeespoort train station, exit the station and look for a local taxi or rideshare service. Inform the driver that you want to go to Scott Street, Hartbeespoort Dam Wall. The taxi ride should take about 10-15 minutes.

• Bus

  Begin your journey at the Pretoria Bus Station. Look for a bus that travels to Hartbeespoort. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Hartbeespoort bus terminal, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Scott Street. If walking, head towards Scott Street and follow the signs to Hartbeespoort Dam Wall, which should take about 20 minutes.

  For the more adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Pretoria and cycle to Hartbeespoort Dam Wall. Start from the city center and head northwest towards the R511 road. Follow the R511 for about 30 kilometers. The ride will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach Hartbeespoort, look for Scott Street, where the Dam Wall is located. Ensure you have a map or GPS to navigate along the route.

• Walking

  If you're near the outskirts of Pretoria, you can opt to walk to Hartbeespoort. This is a long trek, so make sure you're prepared for a journey of approximately 25 kilometers. Start by heading towards the R511 road, following it northwest. The walk will take approximately 5-6 hours. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views and local wildlife, and once you reach Hartbeespoort, head to Scott Street to find the Dam Wall.
