Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey in the town of Vaalwater. From the central area, head south on the R517 road. Follow the signs for the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the entrance of the reserve. Please note that there is an entrance fee for vehicles entering the reserve, which usually costs around R200 per car. Once inside the reserve, follow the signs leading to Izingwe Lodge, which is located further inside the reserve. The total driving time from Vaalwater should be about 45 minutes.

If you are using public transportation, you can take a taxi or shuttle service from Vaalwater to the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. Make sure to arrange this in advance, as public transport options may be limited. The cost of the taxi service may vary but expect to pay around R300 to R400 per person. Once at the reserve entrance, you will need to arrange for a lodge transfer to Izingwe Lodge, which may incur an additional cost. The lodge can assist with this transfer if you inform them of your arrival time.
