Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the downtown area of Beaufort, head south on Bay Street towards the waterfront. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Carteret Street. Turn left onto Carteret Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with Ribaut Road (US-21). Cross Ribaut Road carefully and continue on Carteret Street, which will eventually lead you into the Habersham area. Keep walking straight, and as you approach the Habersham neighborhood, look for Eve Creek. The Rookery is located at 62-88 Eve Creek. The total distance from downtown Beaufort is approximately 2.5 miles, which should take about 45 minutes to an hour on foot.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in downtown Beaufort. Start from Bay Street and head south towards Carteret Street. Turn left onto Carteret Street and continue straight until you reach Ribaut Road (US-21). Use caution as you cross Ribaut Road. Once on the other side, stay on Carteret Street until you enter the Habersham neighborhood. Follow the road until you reach Eve Creek, where the Rookery is located at 62-88 Eve Creek. The distance is about 2.5 miles, and it should take around 15-20 minutes by bike.

• Public Transport

  If you are using public transport, you can take the local bus service from the downtown area. Catch the bus at the nearest stop on Bay Street that services the Habersham area. Make sure to check the bus schedule beforehand as the frequency may vary. Get off at the closest stop to the Habersham community, then walk towards Eve Creek.
