Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start on Center Street, the main road in Folly Beach. Head east toward the ocean, passing local shops and restaurants. At the end of Center Street, turn right onto East Ashley Avenue. Continue straight, and after about half a mile, turn left onto 12th Street E. You will find the Public Beach Access point at the end of this street. There is limited parking available, and you may need to pay a small fee for parking, which is typically around $10 for the day.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, check for local shuttle services that operate within Folly Beach. These shuttles often have routes that include stops near the beach access points. Board a shuttle heading toward the beach and request to be dropped off at the intersection of East Ashley Avenue and 12th Street E. From there, it's just a short walk (about 1-2 minutes) to the Public Beach Access. Make sure to confirm the shuttle schedule, as they may not run frequently.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, Folly Beach is bike-friendly. Rent a bike from one of the local shops on Center Street. From there, ride east on Center Street towards East Ashley Avenue and then turn left onto 12th Street E. Follow this street to the end, where you will reach the Public Beach Access. This route is approximately 1.5 miles and should take about 10-15 minutes to bike, depending on your pace.

• Walking

  For those staying nearby, walking can be a pleasant option. From the center of Folly Beach, head east on Center Street until you reach East Ashley Avenue. Turn left on East Ashley Avenue and then take another left onto 12th Street E. Continue straight to reach the Public Beach Access. This walk is about 0.5 mile and should take around 10-15 minutes.
