Getting There

• Bus

  Start by locating the nearest bus stop within Fort Mill. You can take the CATS bus route 47, which services the area. Board the bus heading towards Rock Hill. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop near the intersection of Mt Gallant Rd and Celanese Rd. From this stop, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles (about 10-15 minutes) to the Museum of York County. Head east on Celanese Rd, then turn left onto Mt Gallant Rd. Continue walking straight until you reach the museum entrance at 4621 Mt Gallant Rd.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, begin at any central location in Fort Mill. You can follow the local bike paths to head towards Rock Hill. Start by heading southwest on Main St towards the Fort Mill Bypass. Follow the Bypass until you reach the junction with Mt Gallant Rd. Turn left onto Mt Gallant Rd and bike for about 2.5 miles until you reach the Museum of York County at 4621 Mt Gallant Rd. Ensure you follow all cycling safety rules and use bike lanes where available.

• Walking

  For those who prefer walking, start at Fort Mill Town Center. Head south on Main St until you reach the intersection with the Fort Mill Bypass. Cross the bypass and continue straight onto Mt Gallant Rd. You will have to walk approximately 3 miles, which should take around an hour. The museum will be on your left at 4621 Mt Gallant Rd. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated during your walk.
