    Start at the Coligny Beach Park. From there, head north on the bike path along Pope Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with William Hilton Parkway (US-278). Turn left and follow the bike path along the road. After about 3 miles, you will come to the intersection with Skidaway Island Park Road. Turn right onto Skidaway Island Park Road, and after a short distance, you will find the Big Ferry Trailhead on your right.

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Shelter Cove, walk towards the Shelter Cove Towne Centre. From there, head southwest along the waterfront path. Follow the path until you reach the intersection with Palmetto Bay Road. Cross over to Palmetto Bay Road and continue walking until you reach the junction with US-278. Turn left onto US-278 and walk for about 3 miles. When you reach the intersection with Skidaway Island Park Road, turn right and the Big Ferry Trailhead will be on your right.

  • Public Transportation

    From any location in Hilton Head Island, find the nearest bus stop for the Palmetto Breeze Transit. Board the bus heading towards the US-278 route. Ride until you reach the stop closest to the intersection of US-278 and Skidaway Island Park Road. Upon getting off, walk approximately 0.5 miles down Skidaway Island Park Road, and you will find the Big Ferry Trailhead on your right.
