Follow the signs leading to the island's southern end and onto US-278. Once you reach US-278, continue on the bike lane until you reach the bridge leading off the island. Cross the bridge and follow the road signs directing you towards Savannah. Once in Savannah, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Wilmington Island. Turn left onto Wilmington Island Rd, and the marina will be on your right at 36 Wilmington Island Rd.

Find the nearest bus stop on Hilton Head Island and take the 'HIT' public transit bus towards the mainland. You will need to transfer buses at the mainland transit hub to a bus heading to Savannah. Once in Savannah, you will want to catch a local bus that services Wilmington Island. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for connections. Get off at the stop nearest to Wilmington Island Rd, and walk to 36 Wilmington Island Rd, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

If you are close enough to the water, you can walk along the shoreline towards the mainland. This is a longer route, but it offers scenic views. Once you reach the mainland near the bridge, follow the pathway that leads to the road. From there, proceed to Wilmington Island Rd.
