Bicycle
Start your journey at Coligny Beach Park, a popular spot on Hilton Head Island. Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops nearby. Once you have your bike, head north on Pope Avenue, following the bike lane for about a mile until you reach the intersection with William Hilton Parkway (US-278). Turn left onto US-278 and continue for approximately 7 miles. You will pass through some beautiful scenery and have the option to stop at various points of interest along the way. After about 7 miles, look for signs directing you to the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. Turn right onto Beech Hill Lane and follow it until you reach the entrance of the refuge.

Public Transportation
Begin at the nearest bus stop in Hilton Head Island, such as the one near Shelter Cove. Take the Palmetto Breeze public transit bus towards Hardeeville. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to ensure timely travel. After approximately a 30-minute ride, disembark at the stop closest to Beech Hill Lane. From there, you may need to walk a short distance (about 0.5 miles) to reach the entrance of the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. Look for signs indicating the refuge entrance.

Walking
If you are near the southern part of Hilton Head Island, you can take a scenic walking route. Start at the Sea Pines Resort, walking along the beach towards the north. Continue past South Beach and along the shoreline for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. From here, head inland towards US-278. Once you reach the highway, turn left and walk for about 4 miles until you see the signs for the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. Follow Beech Hill Lane until you arrive at the refuge entrance.
