From anywhere on Hilton Head Island, head to the nearest bike rental shop and rent a bicycle. Once you have your bike, you can ride towards the Cross Island Parkway. Follow the signs for US-278 North towards Bluffton. After about 15 miles, you will reach the intersection with I-95. Continue straight onto US-17 North. After about 30 miles, take the exit towards Savannah and follow the signs to downtown Savannah. Once you get into downtown, look for Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. The Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum will be on your left at 41 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. It is a short ride from there to the museum entrance.

Start by finding the Hilton Head Island public transit system, known as the 'Palmetto Breeze.' You will need to take the Route 1 bus from any stop on Hilton Head Island towards Bluffton. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. When you reach the stop at the intersection of US-278 and SC-170 in Bluffton, transfer to the Route 2 bus heading towards Savannah. Remain on this bus for about 45 minutes until you reach the downtown Savannah area. Get off at the stop on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, and you will find the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum located at 41 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, just a short walk from the bus stop.

If you're already in downtown Savannah, you can easily walk to the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum. Start at the nearest landmark, such as the Savannah River or Forsyth Park. From Forsyth Park, head south towards E. Taylor Street, then turn left onto Abercorn St. Continue walking until you reach Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Turn right onto Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and walk for about 10 minutes. The Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum will be on your left at 41 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
